Mental Health Awareness Week is an annual campaign led by the Mental Health Foundation in the UK. Its primary aim is to encourage open conversations about mental health, reduce stigma, and promote positive mental wellbeing for everyone.

This year’s focus is anxiety — a topic that holds immense significance for all of us, both personally and professionally. We all feel anxious from time to time, it is a natural response to the uncertain world around us. It’s important that we recognise and respond when we feel anxious so that it doesn’t become overwhelming, and know how to access support and resources in order to thrive.

We’re taking this opportunity to shine a spotlight on the benefits we offer at Multiverse in the UK to support our employees’ wellbeing.

“At Multiverse, we’re doing something big. We’re fundamentally changing a broken system so that we can create more equitable access to great careers. When you’re passionate about a cause, sometimes it can be hard to maintain the balance. That’s why we’re prioritising wellbeing at work.” Paige Rinke, VP of People & Talent at Multiverse.

Mental Health Support

We’re proud to partner with Spill(opens new window) to provide confidential and secure mental health support to all Multiversers. Spill is accessible at any time through a Slack integration and employees can ask a therapist a question, have a one-off therapy session, browse content and tools, and receive a course of six therapy sessions.

We offer medical insurance through Bupa, which includes access to a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme, as well as access to mental health support through our life insurance provider.

Additionally, we’ve partnered with Gympass(opens new window) to offer Multiversers access to hundreds of gyms, studios and wellbeing apps, supporting our employees' physical and mental wellbeing.

Time Off

In addition to our generous annual leave allowance of 27 days, we offer 4 additional ‘M-powered Days’ per year. This means that we take one day per quarter to collectively switch off and focus on our wellbeing. There are no rules about how to spend the day, instead, we empower our employees to take the time to relax and recharge, without worrying about missed meetings or Slack messages!

Flexible working

At Multiverse, we know that our people are our greatest asset. We recognise the importance of empowering our employees to balance work and home life by offering flexible and hybrid working opportunities. Ultimately, we want to help Multiversers work in a way that works for them and our business. Find out more about our flexible working approach on Flexa(opens new window).

Peer Support

At Multiverse, one of our values is ‘we adopt an owner mentality’ and we’re grateful for this group of employees who have volunteered to collate a series of events and a bank of resources to support their peers. The most recent series was focused on the topic of anxiety and covered themes like ‘finding calm’ and ‘tools for dealing with anxiety’.

As a high-growth and mission-driven company, we know it can sometimes be hard to focus on wellbeing. That’s why we’re amplifying our benefits and support available this Mental Health Awareness Week to keep wellbeing front of mind and to continue to drive forward this important conversation.
