Multiverse is partnering with the Forces Employment Charity(opens new window) and its TechVets(opens new window) programme to provide fully-funded data upskilling for service leavers, as well as the families and spouses for veterans or those still serving.

The initiative provides access to highly relevant and fully funded technical training, delivering skills and progression for veterans in the workplace, through data apprenticeships - including up to degree-level.

Our next cohort, launching in June 2023, is open to veterans currently in employment - and marks the first part of an exciting roadmap to transforming careers for the wider veteran service leavers community.

Over half of veterans in employment work in low-skill, low-paid jobs(opens new window) - we want to change that. We view digital skills as the key to unlocking the best careers. For every 10% increase in the amount of tech skills a job requires, the average worker’s salary increases by 4%.

Apprenticeships are simply the best way to learn digital skills: Multiverse and Forces Employment Charity are on the front line of demonstrating how this approach provides a unique and integrated way to learn while you earn. Apprenticeships are a modern, high-value way to deliver impact directly in your role, according to CEO of Forces Employment Charity, Alistair Halliday(opens new window).

Colin Grimes, a Programme Training Officer at TechVets, is one of the veterans already on the programme, who says “The Multiverse Data Fellowship is designed to build on your existing data skills and move them on to that next level. This will enable me to help my organisation use its data in a much more meaningful way.”

These apprenticeships will not just benefit the individuals that are enrolled on them - but their employers, too. Across all Multiverse programmes, we’ve so far tracked over £550m in cost-saving or revenue-generating activities for our clients resulting from the work of our apprentices.

CEO of Multiverse, Euan Blair, said: “Veterans have a unique set of skills and experiences that make them an asset to any business, but many are overlooked for the best jobs in civilian employment. We want to change that - and ensure the very best careers of the future go to individuals from all backgrounds.

“Apprenticeships give veterans a route to develop the in-demand skills in tech and data that will complement the skills they developed through their deployment. Our partnership with the Forces Employment Charity and its TechVets programme - supported by our corporate partners - will give veterans and their employers fully funded access to this world-class training.”

Training will be fully funded by Multiverse’s range of corporate partners who choose to contribute their unspent levy to important social causes.

If you are a veteran currently in employment, or the spouse or family member of a veteran or someone currently still serving, you’re eligible to join our first cohort. To find out how to secure your place, sign up to receive the next steps. Registering will secure you/your team an invitation to our Programme Information Sessions during May.
