We’re committed to increasing the representation of colleagues who identify as part of the Latiné community in our US Team and in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month this September-October, we are shining a light on our partnership with Techqueria.
Partnering with Techqueria for greater impact:
Techqueria is a nonprofit that serves the largest global community of Latiné professionals in tech. Founded in 2019, their mission is to empower Latiné professionals with the resources and support they need to further their careers and become leaders in the tech industry. They currently have over 18,000 members in the US.
We are partnering with them to build Latiné-centered spaces that comprehensively affect positive change in the tech industry.
“At Multiverse, we believe that talent is everywhere but opportunity is not. As we strive to create more equitable access to the best careers, we see tremendous opportunities in the partnership with Techqueria. And personally, as a member of the Latiné community, I couldn’t be more excited to continue to increase our reach, diversify our talent and most importantly support and amplify this community.” - Veronica Salcido, Senior Director, Global Talent - Multiverse
“Techqueria is excited to partner with Multiverse because together we're expanding access to tech job opportunities for our Latiné community. Techqueria's commitment remains to accelerate Latiné representation, influence and leadership across the tech industry and our partnership with Multiverse directly supports our community members with tech career pathways." - Audrey Galo, Techqueria Board Member
Our approach to DEI at Multiverse:
At Multiverse, we're creating a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to university and corporate training. As we build a better system, we're committed to ensuring diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) are driving forces in all that we do – from the design and delivery of our programs, to our recruitment, culture, learning and development within our organisation.
Internally, we have a DEI ecosystem that is constantly evolving to serve our global operation and employees. As part of this ecosystem, we have launched Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). ERGs are groups created for employees and led by people with common life experiences or identities. Typically, these groups are comprised of people within communities that have been historically and systemically marginalized. Read more about LGBTQ+ @ Multiverse and Black @ Multiverse.
Aditionally, we have DEI Champions within our business. This is a global community of employees who are committed to supporting and embedding DEI within their teams' day-to-day work and representing their team's feedback and ideas at committee meetings.
Externally, in addition to partnering with Techqueria, we work with organizations such as OneTen, Tech Talent Charter, Flexa and BYP — read more about our partnership — to connect with more talent from a range of backgrounds.
Tailored events and content with Techqueria:
We began collaborating with Techqueria in April, and this summer had the opportunity to participate in their 2023 Careers Fair hosted in partnership with Blacks In Technology. At the virtual event, we had Multiverse representatives from a variety of teams including Talent, DEI and Sales.
“The Techqueria Careers Fair provided an excellent platform to showcase our company mission and in-demand job opportunities, connect with talented individuals, and further build our partnership. We look forward to future events like this to connect with more candidates in the Techqueria community.” - Corky Ribakoff, Associate Talent Partner - Multiverse.
We also attended one of Techqueria’s Speed-Networking nights – our US recruitment team directly connected with Techqueria’s network, offering advice for those looking to secure a new opportunity whilst exploring our current vacancies. We are also excited to be attending their upcoming Latiné Heritage Month Summit 2023 – keep a lookout for our participation!
We look forward to continuing our work with Techqueria, connecting with their vast network of talented individuals. Together, we will deliver exciting and engaging events and content, cultivating a productive and successful partnership to further drive our DEI goals.
