London Business School (LBS) has launched a Data Academy, training staff across the school in data skills that can be applied to improving the learner experience.

The programme will see 32 members of staff enrolled as apprentices on a data course. The training will be delivered by Multiverse, a startup tech company focused on high-quality education and training through a unique professional apprenticeship model.

The 13-month Data Literacy programme covers the core technical skills required to transform data into insights, as well as softer skills like building narratives and presenting findings.

Meanwhile, the 15-month Data Fellowship will give apprentices the skills to clean, analyse and model data, and tell data stories to non-specialists.

Danny Attias, LBS’ Chief Digital & Information Officer, said: “London Business School is constantly using innovative technology and data to enrich the lives of our students. Multiverse’s programme enable us to increase our data skills, and take our data maturity to a whole new level: equipping staff across the school with the data skills they need to thrive in their careers, and support our students.”

Multiverse matches talented individuals with careers and delivers world-class training in a wide range of qualifications in leadership, digital and technology. Apprentices benefit from one-to-one coaching with an industry expert and are supported by a thriving community with events, socials, mentoring and leadership programmes designed to exceed the best of the university experience.

Multiverse president, Jeremy Duggan, said: "Through apprenticeships, London Business School is putting advanced data skills at the heart of its strategy. Not only are they supporting staff with world-class training to become the leaders of the future, but also supporting students with improved use of data."
