On April 22nd, four of the UK’s top artists will perform at London’s Printworks as part of Apprentice Nation – a virtual live show aiming to inspire young people to take charge of their future.
Ghetts, Young T & Bugsey, Ray BLK, and IAMDDB will perform live during the free live show. On top of their performances, they’ll also share career stories, motivational tips and even advice for building connections.
Apprentice Nation is a collaboration between Multiverse, RockCorps and BT. Together, we’re on a mission to energise and inspire young people to shape their future. Through a mix of performances, exclusive interviews and work-ready webinars, the organisation raises awareness of apprenticeships among young people – particularly those in historically underrepresented groups.
Providing accessible, gamified content, Apprentice Nation gives young people the chance to earn credits while they learn. These credits can then be used to bag rewards including England football shirts, Beats by Dre headphones, Samsung phones, or even a private video hangout with an artist from the live show.
Not3s performing at a previous Apprentice Nation live show
In a recent survey, 42% of young people said they would explore doing an apprenticeship if they could find one in an industry they liked. Through the power of music, Apprentice Nation will raise further awareness of the incredible opportunities on offer to career starters.
“Visibility is mission critical. Young people need to see it to believe it – pics or it didn’t happen. Enter Apprentice Nation. We sit at the cross-section of entertainment and education. Working with music artists, experts and partners, we showcase the opportunities available to young people and provide the chance to explore them in ways they’ll actually enjoy. We’re thrilled that Ghetts, Young T and Bugsey, Ray BLK and IAMDDB are joining us this spring. Together, we’ll entertain and inspire the youth after such a challenging year.” Stephen Greene CBE, CEO RockCorps and Producer of Apprentice Nation
Building confidence as well as awareness
When asked, 85% of previous Apprentice Nation participants said they’d gained at least one new work-ready skill, while 75% said they now had more confidence in themselves and their future.
“A big obstacle to even greater uptake of apprenticeships is awareness. Many young people still don’t know that apprenticeships can offer them an excellent route into a career in tech or professional services. That’s why we co-founded Apprentice Nation. Through their outreach activity they’ll empower more young people to make great decisions about their future. This is an important part of how we ensure apprenticeships are rightly viewed as an outstanding alternative to university.” Euan Blair, Founder and CEO at Multiverse
