On Tuesday 22 October, two of the WhiteHat team members attended the Digital Impact Awards alongside a number of fast-growing tech businesses to celebrate the best digital work in corporate communications.
Digital innovation is transforming the world of work and a number of new behaviours and ways of working have emerged. As a result, there is a global skills shortage, and universities are not preparing students for the changing nature of the labour market or equipping them with the skills they need. Plus, the cost of university is rising, despite its weakening value proposition, and it’s becoming less appealing to students.
As a tech startup, we understand the importance of integrating digital as part of our apprenticeship programmes. Our platform, designed in-house, helps counteract failures in matching apprentices to the right opportunity - industry average shows that <70% of apprentices complete their qualification - and enables a fully digital, paperless process.
We believe that applied learning, coupled with cutting edge technology, is the answer to the skills gap and the lack of diversity organisations are facing when hiring new talent.
We are therefore over the moon to have been recognised at the Digital Impact Awards in the ‘Best use of Digital in the Education sector’ category. By fully digitising the process, from sign-up to progress reviews, we will be able to reach more young people to meet employer demand, process applications quickly and efficiently, and provide a better learning experience, and it is a huge achievement to have been recognised at these awards.
