On 23rd May, some of the WhiteHat team were joined by key clients, including Kema Davies from Publicis, Camilla McBride from Sky and Heather Elvin from Expedia at The School Leaver Awards 2019. Shortlisted in 6 of the training provider categories, both team members and guests waited with bated breath as the awards part of the evening unfurled...
At WhiteHat, we don’t see ourselves as just a training provider - we see ourselves as building an outstanding alternative to university through apprenticeships so we can enable a diverse group of future leaders to be successful.
We talk of redefining the framework that employers use to measure the potential of their entry level talent, and of designing our apprenticeship pathways to solve the UK’s skills gap. We reach out to students from some of the country’s most deprived boroughs through school visits and outreach, to help build aspiration into these school leavers’ career decisions, and work with a number of charities to place refugee apprentices in roles. We provide our apprentices with an on-and-offline community to enable a social experience that rivals the relationships students build at university. And we celebrate an apprenticeship success rate (the number of apprentices who start an apprenticeship with WhiteHat and complete it) of 91%, compared to the national average of 68% across apprenticeship provision, and a candidate Net Promoter Score* (NPS) of 80.
So we were absolutely thrilled to pick up not one, but two awards at this year’s School Leaver Awards: Best for Assessment & Feedback and Best Training Provider.
These awards are based entirely on the opinions of apprentices and school leaver trainees from 100 UK organisations. Apprentices were asked to complete surveys that analyse everything about their training programmes, from skills development and career progression to training, so it was a huge accolade and testament to how much our apprentices love us.
Winning Best Training Provider, and being voted number one out of the Top 80 Training Providers(opens new window), is a huge achievement for us and we were delighted to have been able to share it with a number of key clients, including Kema Davies from Publicis, Camilla McBride from Sky and Heather Elvin from Expedia.
It is thanks to our clients that we have received this award. Those who have been great advocates for WhiteHat, introducing us to other businesses and entrusting us to support apprentices and line managers to make their apprenticeship programmes a success.
We are right at the beginning of this journey to build a truly outstanding alternative to university and our honoured to have been recognised at such a prestigious awards.
